Title: nasty phone call

just had a threatening phone call from a carpet cleaner , told me to watch my back and he knows were i live , didnt know carpet cleaners had patches  :o should i go to the police or carry on as normal

Report it if you want but it's the guys who don't call that are the violent ones. This guy just want you so sweat a bit.

report it.  probably wont come to anything, but if he does it again you will already have started the process.  if they visit him it'll put the frighteners right back on him

They will only do something if he specifically threatened him. e.g. "I will break your legs/whatever" The police are generally too stretched to handle this type of thing.

You could be in a whole deep pile of trouble if you have upset him. :o
Wouldn't be surprised if he gives you some pre-treatment before wiping the floor with you.  :P
