Im soon going to buy a Thule roof bar system for my vehicle and have been looking around and came accros this ladder clamp:
http://www.vanarack.com/store/rhino-safe-cl-ladder-cl/ (http://www.vanarack.com/store/rhino-safe-cl-ladder-cl/)
Im after something like this to secure the ladders overnight, just wandering if anyone has used them before? I presume they are universal? Also do they make the ladders secure enough to drive around whilst doing my round or do the ladders need securing with a harness / rope too.
-
it looks to me its a rachet system in stead of winding them round and they keep the ladders tight to.

Yeah they look smart too. Wonder how strong / secure they are against thieves?
Anyone used these before?

I got a set. Theyre okay. You can lock them, they have an inbuilt locking mechanism with key. Not as brilliant as hoped, occasionally the ladders arent held quite as firmly as hoped, not that theyre likely to come off though, but a lot easier and quicker to use than the wind in style.

put it in youtube Rhino Safe Clamp - its not a rachet system.

Think im going to get a set of these when I get my roof bars, look so easy and quick to use.

i use these they are very good .but you got to make sure your ladder sits flat on your roof rack if you have a slight bow in your roof bar they wont work.

Dont quite get what you mean, why would a roof bar have a bow in it? What roof bars do you have? I'm going to get a Thule system.

they are straight its just that my roof bar was slightly damaged .

Was just about to order some a while back and saw this review. Also looked at the Rhino Video. I noticed they didn't look particularly secure so didn't bother.
