how can you be found not guilty of burglary, when you have admitted it?

I am taking all my boys out for a meal and giving them free Beer all night, It was also my Birthday yesterday so all this is wasted on me tonight

not sure on that one, having read it, it would seem he took his own property back so not burglary, in Scotland he would done for breaking and entering or something like that, not sure on England laws but surely Trespass or something could have been charged
