Title: renault trafic help please
Post by: AJ on December 14, 2011, 08:45:44 pm
All my lights have gone on my 2009 renault trafic, head lights, side lights, tail lights & dash lights all gone.
full beam, fog & brake all work.

Checked all the fuses, they're fine.

Might be a relay but dont know where they are.

Can anyone help, early start in the morning.

cheers
Alan

only thing linking those two together is the stalk, you check fuses? should be F32 10amp for sidelights and tail lights

check the headlight adjuster works as thats on a different switch.

to test the side lights short out the blue wire (should be pin2) and see if they light up. if your any good with wiring diagrams i'll send you the exterior lighting one

cheers

Thanks for the reply.

Wiring diagrams mean nothing to me, but thanks for the offer.

I have just got off the phone with a mechanic mate, he reckons its quite common with these vans that one bulb goes and causes the others to follow.

Looks like i might have to replace all the bulbs.

Thanks again

Alan

Bit of a longshot but just check all connectors on the looms under the dash especially the passenger footwell,i fixed a light problem for a friend once on a trafic and a connector there had come apart.(think this was all rears though).

UPDATE.
Lost a days work >:(

Changed all the bulbs which got my main beam back, but still no side or tail lights.

There is no power through the side light fuses, guessing i will need a new indicator stalk.

More days lost whilst renault have a go at it.

As it is under 3 years old is this not covered by the warranty? I thought all new vehicles come with 3 year warranty as standard.

Best not mess about with it yourself and take it to a dealer.

Yes, it is covered by warranty but if its something silly, I would rather not have the down time.

Let us know what it is when you sort it.

There is a danger if you tamper with it yourself that you will invalidate the warranty. I don't think all the lights going is a minor fault and as far as you can tell the fuses are OK.
