Title: faux sued

any of you guys know how to clean faux sued by hand ?

whats the best product to use ?

It cleans particularly well with MS, may I suggest SPM.... ;)

Hi Guys

I use Pureclean as my default upholstery cleaing chemical, modifying as necessary.

It works well and is pretty safe.

On Faux Suede, use warm water to dilute, spray and towell off.

Most suppliers have a crystalising foam which is easy to use ..............

why by hand?

best method is HWE, I give the fabric a good flushing, once you get over the fear of how it looks when its wet  it clean up really welll

someone asked me to do a suite today but don't like touching faux sued

I said I would find out how she could do it

mist it with water, scrub it with a soft brush and then towel it off, you might get a slight improvement but it really needs rinsing..

but you should clean it, like I said get over the fear of them and they are an easy clean with amazing results

Ignore the word suede and just clean as you would any other synthetic material, avoid solvents and fabric restorer.
Agitate with terry towels which will remove alot of the soiling, then flush well, make sure you reset the nap with terry towels and this will also aid drying.
Just make sure it is faux suede before you commence cleaning.

HWE all the way Jamie, results are great, I did one last month that another cleaner turned down because when he arrived the customer told him it was it was Buffalo suede, unfortunately for him he didn't know what it was, neither did the customer to be honest.

Its easy to tell the difference, the price the customer paid for the suite should be enough of a clue.
Unzip a cushion if possible and the backing would be leather if it was real suede and a material if it is faux.
If you cant unzip a cushion you can tell by looking through a microscope which you can pick up cheap on the internet.
Ive never come across a real one in 17 years and have cleaned 100's
