Post by: geefree on December 14, 2011, 04:54:45 pm
They think we are daft some customers, they go into every room to make sure we clean properly, ... always do a really good job , wether the customer is in or out,

but it does make me smile when they follow me around, its either that or they think am lovely  ;D ;D

;DUsed to do a very large detached house in posh area of Leeds ,woman who owned house had a cleaner who followed me round house - all little square wooden windows - talking her head off , took 2.5 hours inside and out ,she even stood at bottom of ladders talking to me .Turned up with walkman on and still she followed me round talking , went one day and she wasnt there , I enquired off lady who owned house and she said she got rid of her because all she did was talk , said she felt sorry for me but kept cleaner away from her for a couple of hours haha . Same house owner used to leave me keys to put through door when I had finished cleaning as She was always going out for lunches etc .

I have had a couple of houses where they have put their coat on and stood outside to watch over my shoulder. Do an Indian family where the old grandad used to do it until he obviously decided I could be trusted.

Usually when i turn up on site for inside, i ask where do you want me to start and i dont mind if you would like to watch as you could move the ornaments for me, they usually go on in front removing all the bits and then follow up putting them all back so don't see much of them.

Or maybe Vince he was looking at what you do, thinking how easily it looks, and if he gets one of those pole thingies, he could clean them himself and save on the window cleaning.

One of the local fellow window cleaners (WFP) cleans a house. She came across and watched me clean some windows a while back and then commented that the reason why her windows weren't as clean as mine is because I rinse afterward.
As I know her we started to talk, so I said that I didn't understand what she meant by her comment.

She had seen how easy is was to clean the windows and had bought a pole with a brush that you attach the hose pipe to, but the windows would dry off all full of spots. So she was going to rinse after she cleaned the windows, convinced that that was the reason why she had so many spots.

All I said was "Oh OK" and left it at that. Some things are better left unsaid and left for customers to experience for themselves. I don't know if this WC still does their windows or not, but I wouldn't want it anyway if he didn't because she could never remember to unlock the back gate, even when texted the previous night.
