Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has tips on the best way to clean stairs.....i have 3 flights to do, I havent done any before.
What is the best way to agitate? I have a sebo duo and i was thinking it wud be tricky positioning it? Would it be best to just brush them?
Pretty stressed as i have all those stairs, 2 landings and 2 rooms to complete in 4 hours!
Any tips would be amazing!
Thanks :)

Your Sebo will be fine for agitation.
It's a lot better than brushing by hand a lot better for your back as well).
Make sure you have extension leads with you as sockets are few and far between on stairways.

hand brush don't panic suck in the moment.... and at the end you will get paid aswell haha
4 hours to do 2 landings stairs and 2 carpets should be fine

Here you go mate, this is easier than explaining... :)

Colin i just realised your from falmouth!
I used to go to uni there....beautiful place, gutted that I had to move back home :(
Sorry if at any point you had to clean any of the student houses I lived in! ::) :P

Does anyone on this forum honestly clean stairs in as many stages as the video Colin posted demonstrated? I mean if I did that for every job I wouldn't be home in time for cornflakes!! I dont prevac or prespray stairs I just hwe and 99 times out of 100 they come up superb! For me it was a classic example of an overly engineered cleaning method!
Plus Ive never vacuumed stairs using an upright like that guy did either! The whole thing looked very bizarre to me!
-
The way we clean stairs are : Vacuum first (not as long as footage) ;D pre spray then a quick brush up then HWE job done.
(Richard & Tara).
-
Nah, I pre-spray the hell out of the first 5 steps, light pre-spray on the other steps, agitate with a rake/brush and HWE with a hand tool (gets in to all the nooks and crannies.
Nice video tho :) I read on an American CC forum that the guy in the video only does one job a day. One average sized lounge takes him around 4 hours or something daft like that. Most of the time is spent on vaccing. What a turnip!

Depends on how much he`s charging ?????
-
Yeah he was charging about $400 a room if i remember correct. But said he was struggling to get the work. Nae wonder!
-
only way iv'e ever cleaned stairs is prespray then my gear knocked up in a bucket and hand pad them all before extracting job done.
-
the guy in the link is a muppet in my opinion, no way would i clean stairs in that fashion, UNLESS he is charging LOADS of money and mugging the customer,
colin, ::)
-
lol, the CC guy in the video has over 20k youtube hits! Wow!
-
Maybee its the only one on cleaning stairs
-
It was the first youtube vid I found. That one was boring enough, you wouldn't really expect to sit through another stair cleaning video after that one.... Would you...? ;D
