Wouldnt buy new, you loose too much money, some give the old reliability so you don't loose work, but all that extra you pay for a new van can pay for many days off because of a broken down van. In my experience, if you know what you are looking for you then you get a decent vehicle.

I tend to do most work of my vehicles myself unless you need a specialist piece of equipment so i suppose this helps

i plan on getting another "old navy" Partner next summer ,about 10 yr old ,same as what i have now ,cheap as chips with a non turbo bombproof engine . This will carry me and a new lad/lass while my current van will be used by  other 2 lads .
 these vans are just about acceptable on the council estates i have found

got battery to replace, drive shaft, and clutch flywheel. after all that got to keep her for another few years (2005 caddy). depends on when accountant says worth selling her. prob get another 4 year oldish money depending.....
