I've just been looking through the offer sent through by a product supplier.
Basically it's 10% off everything this weekend only.
Interesting I thought, I might just give that SPM a go on the back of it, BUT, I'd be better off waiting for a no offer week....why? Because you have to pay £10.50 postage on items below £75 and because the offer makes SPM £71.82 it would be cheaper to pay the full price and not pay postage :o
-
or buy some thing else for £3.19p :D
-
I was thinking the same thing Mike I had to read it twice!

Just bought some SPM tonight, bought something else I needed and got free delivery.Anything instead of watching this nauseating, cringeworthy X Factor ;D
I hope its good as you have to buy 15kg of the stuff.

Just ordered some SPM and got a smal bottle of Natural Odour Neutraliser.
10% off SPM and the neutraliser was less than half price .
Got frre delivery, so actually i find it a good offer

If you ring and ask they'll sell you a 5kg tub to
see if you like it.

There was a programme on the other week about supermarkets making things to be on offer like large tubs of marg. Turns out two smaller tubs to the same weight were cheaper.... and people were buying the large tub.

SPM basically a microsplitter with an oxidiser added. Pure clean with energiser added is basically the same.

Based on that what are the comparitive costs?
There can't be much difference kg for kg
-
Haven't worked it out Neil. Oxidisers are nothing new and have been around for years. They were frowned on a few years back as optical brighteners. Coming back into their own now basically on the back of Oxyfresh which is the biggest selling franchise in the states at the moment. They are basically an encapsulation company using an oxidiser in their solution.
There are a number of products on the market which do this including Chemspec Energiser, Craftex Energybrite and Prochem Oxybrite. These are especially effective if added as a booster to bonneting solution.
-
Yeah I thought they were going to ban optical brighteners at one point or was I dreaming.

But it's just as easy to buy SPM..... ???

Don't oxidisers go off when exposed to air? A 15kg tub would last me a year would it stll be at full strength after such a long exposure?
And does'nt it take away my choose to Whether to add an oxidiser or not. If I went on a training course and told the instructor I use oxidiser on everything, even before I see the job I mix an oxidiser with my pre spray..... What would they say?
And why chose to sell it only in 15kg containers, when most pre sprays are sold in 5kg tubs, is it a bit like the companies who only sell supermarket advertising on 3 yr contracts? They know if they sold it in smaller amounts they wouldn't come back, so need to sell as much as possible

I've had mine since August and I'm half way through it, I'm not particularly busy or anything.... ???
-
I!ve got a 5 kg tub of pure clean that is nearly empty and i've had it since august, I don,t use it on everything, I like to choose the most appropriate pre spray for the job so a tub of SMP would last me about a year.
It would interesting to know if oxidisers do have an effective shelf life and if they lose there effectiveness once mixed like oxidisers do. I Mix my M/S in a 5gl pump up sprayer and use it as it's needed, would SMP be ok or would it become less effective as it sat in my sprayer?
-
it would lose it's effectiveness after 24 hours Mike, however if you were to add a little oxydiser fresh the next morning it would probably re-boost it.....
So I read on the other channel yesterday..
;D ;D

I have a 5 litre concentrated mix in my in-line sprayer. (250grams per 5 ltrs, spray set at 4/1) I'm still happy with the results I get 3-5 days later...
-
You can get a 5kg tub if you ring.
15kg is a lot to lose if you have an accident.
I dropped a half full double clean on the garage
floor when I unloaded for my holidays.
Picked it up 3 week later and the bottom had
cracked where I dropped it, and heavy rain had
seeped under garage door and the tub was sat
in it. Set solid.
I cried over 2.5kg..........15kg would have been
suicide.
Also too big to lug around.

The worst thing about SPM is I've got a lot of other stuff knocking around I don't use anymore.
-
Hi Guys
Just a note of caution that an oxidiser is effectively a bleach and may lighten colours.
I would certainly not use oxidisers as routine, fine if that is what you are trying to achieve but not for coloured carpets.
Cheers
Doug

My wife soaked a white shirt in oxidiser in the absence of liquid bleach a couple of nights ago. What I found interesting was the following morning the bucket had a surprising amount of activity with hundreds of mini explosions taking place.

You need to get out more Robert. ;)

Do you mean that you're using SPM in place of a few other chems, or you don't want to order some because you've got half empty tubs of other miracle cures?
-
I've got a full tub of PB I was going to use until I broke the bank balance (Sarcasm) and bought a 15kg tub of SPM... :o
I simply haven't bothered even opening the PB since..... ;)
