thinking of buying a 600w oil filled rad for £16.99p Looking to keep back of transit connect from freezing overnight. DO you recon a 6oow is enough power?

Depends on how cold it gets - i used one last year in the combo - it radiates heats only over a small area
ideal if your pipes/pump and reel are close together - but when it got really cold i got an electric fan heater
to circulate the air around the van

I use a 2KW convector heater with thermostat.
You can buy one for about £22 in Argos or the DIY stores.
Much better than oil filled rad in my opinion.

until they go on fire :o

until they go on fire :o
I've performed a risk assessment and concluded that once the water tank melts it will extinguish the flames ;D

Patent it ;D

Good idea but im pretty sure that no insurance company will pay out if you van catches fire over night due to you plugging in an electric heater?

A 600 won't cut the mustard trust me i used a 800 last year and everything froze up at minus 7 i would get a 1200 oil rad at least.
I would not use a connector/fan heater your asking for trouble :o
