need some advice, my accountant said it is in my intrest to get new van or pay alot of tax this year has anybody done this in the past ?

It's common practice to offset your tax payment, there is nothing wrong with it.

heard loads not liking lease deals as so many different types of deal. also do you not pay VAT upfront? the  there is the problem if you modify the van you can be charged etc. Lease deals with balloon payments and so on.

also like to hear others thoughts on lease deals.

so on a 10k van its 2k spent

Unless you are paying 40% tax IMO mot a valid reason to change your van. Another option to reduce tax is paying money into a pension.
