People must think that all i do is moan but when my new hot wash turned up today with this wanky flue kit.
I was expecting something lets say a little more robust than a crushed end piece and a cheap flex.
So i contacted Aquatec straight away to have the phone answered by an employee who answered it like i'd sh*t on his lawn and new it was me who was calling. No "Good afternoon this is Aquatec how can i help you." Just "Allo!"
I asked to speak to Peter as there are no installation instructions or list of componants or anything, just a badly packed box full of bits and the heater and this crappy flue kit!
Surprise Surprise, he couldn't come to the phone and take my call just like my texts and my previous threads which have never been returned.
So once again Peter if you even exist, can you please tell me why you have charged me £15 + vat + delivery for something that B&Q sell for £7.99. You have no mention of the kit being just a flex and a couple of crappy screws. Im not happy and like many other people on previous threads have proven, your communication skills of yourself and your company are appalling.
I wouldn't mind so much if this was a one off, but this seems to be consistant problem.
I doubt very much if i'll ever have this rectified or even be contacted but i'm sure to say that i wont be buying anything from his company ever again.
I now before anybody starts saying that the hotwash is a cheap alternative for hot water but this aside if your a professional company you should damn well act like it.
-
I once tried to communicate , asking when the hot wash would be available, never got a reply!...
so i never bought one, .... as i rightly assumed the lack of comminication would be the shape of things to come.
Comminication, customer relations and good quality equipment and service are important to any business.
-
he answered the phone straight away for me, and sent a replacement part which i had lost, free of charge!
-
Exactly but i've read such great reviews with regards to the running of the Hotwash.
I'd actually decided to get the Pure Freedom version but after measuring what room i had left it was just to big with my existing setup. So i thought well if the Hotwash lasts a year or just over then i'll get the PF one with new van...
I just hope i haven't made a mistake £210 or not its still an expensive one

yes hes a bad penny that peter. I heard hes away on holiday for 2 months on a cruise spending all the easy money hes made from the hotwash system most of the parts were bought in bulk from a b&q warehouse in newcastle.
-
aquatec and brodex two companies i will never deal with again because of bad service! will this get deleted now brodex sponser this section?
-
Sorry to hear you bad news, if you go on windows tools you can see all the stuff he sells,
Most of it very cheap and is aimed at that sort of market.
-
Peter gives good service on the rare occasion you can get hold of him,.. he does definitely have communication issues though.
-
So I'm now not aloud an opinion!!!

I imagine Alex has something that he will be bringing out and it will be well worth the wait ;)

You may laugh but it was nearly 2 weeks before my fogwash was delivered because he was away on holidays I knew nothing about.
-
2 weeks??
thats NOT acceptable.
why are there so many crap suppliers out there? Honestly, most of the stuff I see banded around on these supplier websites is utter rubbish - any other industry just wouldn't have it.
-
Spoke to Peter twice in the last two days but he can be a hard man to get a hold of
However for the price the fog wash is a bargain. Maybe he should put his prices up and hire someone to answer the phone.
-
scott he has answered you within a few hours of your rant on his own forum, go take a look he has answered, have a bit of patience

I agree if I was aware an item was gonna take 2 weeks for delivery, I would look elsewhere.
But funny enough not many suppliers will tell you until they have your money thats if you get told at all!
-
looked at post on other forum and has given a more than reasonable answer
and offer of full refund if still not satisfied.
quite a few have bought fogwashes on here and seem
satisfied i think he should sort out his methods of comunication
though, would save a lot of hassle to himself and others

Hold on did you miss half of my post yeah he's replied but it's taken me to complain like this to get any feedback, this could have been all been easily rectified if the information was available from the start. Yeah I feel bad for doing what I've done but I've been trying to get hold if this guy via many methods for weeks now. So I think Ive been patient enough.
So far I'm not dissatisfied with the heater (baring in mind I haven't fitted it yet) but the flue kit just isn't what you would expect.
From the last time I looked last night Peter had replied and I will be speaking to him at somepoint today.
-
throw up a photo of this fabulous flue then
-
Ok once I get home I will, by the way it's not a flue kit rather than just a single skinned flue linner and what looks like some kind of diffuser
-
I've never had any problems with Peter, I bought some Auto brushes from him and some bits and pieces here and there.
The poor bloke got flooded out one year too so he has my sympathy. Where would we be without him!!!

Peter Fogwill invented the fogwash? It's straight out of China, and people have been using L5's for ages.

I think this hits the nail on the head. I got into wfp thru Peter and his trolley system in 2005. I tried the autobrush which grew out of patchy reliability of the on/off remote pump switch.
I still use the RO he supplied with an extra added membrane.
But frankly - I outgrew his homely helpful oops I've got too much work on try later I'm busy style.
He has good ideas and if you are self sufficient you can make use of them.
-
To be fair to Peter I think he has done quite a lot for the community. But the business and website screams DIY.
Still I am very happy with my hotwash, it arrived quickly too. :)
I too have sent emails which don't get answered, if they do it's a very long time. But that's ages ago, I have never bought anything off him except the hotwash. I don't think I will buy anything else off him, without being nasty, I don't think it's a proper business, more something that is done on the side. That's what it comes over like to me. There are many shops out there who are gold standard.
-
scott you should answer your phone, see other forum where you squeaked like a pig ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
ask sumone like nat jones la
or ste m both use similar set ups ste m

It's the flue kit that fits on the heater. I have now had only one complaint about the price of the flue kit and there must be over 100 of them out there.
BTW I have been quite hard to get a hold of in the past but for the last 3 months there has been someone full time in the workshop so the phone has always been answered. Maybe not personally by me but by someone who can help, surely the phone doesn't have to be answered by the business owner?

Wow Peter ... can't you sleep? ;D
-
Yes normally I am in bed by 12 last night my wife was at a relatives and I was waiting on her coming in. Since I had a few hours to spare I thought I would see what's happening here.

You could really do with having some proper information on your site about the Fogwash Peter.
People do generally rate it, but going by peoples posts the Flue kit you supply is deemed to be poor and people like to source a better quality vent elsewhere.
-
I thought it was person not people, has anyone else mentioned it?
The flue kit is made for the heater, and it is an optional extra. If people are complaining and have options then they can buy the option. I would look at it if I was aware of complaints, so far I know of 1 in around 100, and after talking to the chap on the phone I am not so sure it is a complaint. It would be good to hear from him if it still is? Is there any more? Anyone?
Peter
-
I will likely get a Fogwash for my next van. The only regular complaint I have seen about it on different forums is that the cowl supplied is substandard and it would be easier for you to supply it with a better quality cowl than for people to have to source this independently.
Otherwise it gets good reviews.
-
To be honest the cowl is not really meant to be used as a vent. The cowl is in the box and I leave it there just in case anyone has a use for it. The flue is there as an optional extra for people to direct the fumes to where they want them to go, whether it is to the back door, or up to a proper vent in the van. I did however modify a cowl to use as a vent in someone's van, it was not very professional as it was welded to a metal plate, which in turn screwed on over a hole in the van roof. It worked well and the unprofessional ness was not seen on the van roof. Now there is no way I am going to make them available to get slaughtered on here, until I can make them a lot better looking. I will though when I get the time.

-
If Reach2Clean are selling a cowl for their heater which looks like an off the shelf part, then why reinvent the wheel by making your own?
-
I don't know if that one is compatible I would have to see.
Peter
-
Someone on here fitted a mushroom vent made by a company in Nottingham for about £15, perhaps you coul get them cheaper if you bought in bulk? ??? ??? ???
-
Was it plastic?
-
Aluminium, they also do them powder coated and brass. they're primarily designed for boats. ;)
-
Thanks I will take a look. It still has to attach to the flexible pipe somehow.
