as said i'm getting a 500ltr tank in my van but only for filling bpack wil it drain fast enough or will i still need some kind of pump to do it
-
Depends how big your outlet is. Wont be the fastest out normal garden hose size, but wont be un bearable
-
Will actually be quicker using gravity rather than going through pump, try to get 1" outlet
-
I siphon mine out, put hose in, sook and watch it all flood in very quickly.....and it's carbon free.!!!
Keep hose exit lower than inlet.
-
lol never thought of siphoning have to give it a go though, i'm getting a 1" outlet cos i beleive thats what i'll need when i do get a pump set up, has any one used 1 of these pump boxes you can get
-
just put the largest tap outlet with a tee connector. one to van mount pump and other to a small length of hose with a tap on (the largest diameter hose and tap), so you can fill from van tank using gravity straight into backpack so long as water in van mount tank is 000tds.

thanks thats what i'll do cheers,

I have a caravan submersible pump in my tank it fills my 20L portable tank in about a minute they are about £15 to £20 from most caravan shops or theres plenty on ebay
-
why dont u just get a reel and do away with back pack !!
-
yeh submersibles good idea-- my rounds not compact i've only got 1 terraced street so i'd forever be reeling in & out & moving the van. i will get a reel eventually but i like my bpack & i've put on about a stone since coming off ladders so i need some graft
