Yes, pure water destroys goretex membranes in shoes.
Numerous threads on here warning of the dangers of working with pure water, such as killing plants, ruining paintwork on cars, and so on.
Be careful out there.

What resin are you using??????? ;D
-
It's because you are right handed - left foot forward. Left foot gets soaked all day long. I've found Berhaus to be pretty good especially if you buy leather boots - then you can coat the leather in waterproof Nikwax as well as having the Gortex membrane.

I've been out all day in the wind, sleet, hail and rain.both feet bone dry.I wear bergaus goretex boots and jacket.I do re proof the jacket every so often.ive had the boots 18 months.I wear them day in/day out.never had any problems.they are terrific boots.sounds like u had a duff pair!

you should wrap your boots up in plastic bags to stop the pure water rotting them :) :) :)

dont u know that the pure water will eat thru the plastic though
-
cut your left foot off, shouldn't get wet then, might slow you up a bit though.
-
Do you rest the bottom of the pole on ur boot?
I do and this prevents dirt getting up the pole but may cause excessive wear on the boot.

Best to just wear cheap wellie boots, the pure water will eat thru them in no time at all so it's best to keep half a dozen or so in the van for spares :D
-
I wear hunter wellingtons because I'm worth it
-
good job you aint got to left feet ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
i wear seal skinz socks, only £20 a pair, nice and warm too. when it gets really cold though i wear wellies and 2 pairs of socks.

2 days old again left foot leaking , wtf????
shall i just get a water proof sock and be done with it ? or coat them with that thing forgot its name ,
its so anoying when you go out spend decent money to have the best things then find out that a £10 pair of wellys do the job better............. or black reebok classics with an asda bag on the insides for crying out loud! these things cost £100 on the high street and both have let me down!

Gotta say guys I've been on WFP now for 6 years and the only time my feet get wet are in the garden's (long grass) etc...
the only time I get wet from my own WFP supply is cleaning a gutter/soffix then always put on waterproof's because I know what's coming.... water down pole handle, and over head water etc....
How the hell are you guys getting wet from your own supply???????
Sorry if I've missed something...........

I was wondering the same C-Thru, only time It happens is if I have a hole in the hose! and when extended it allows the water to run down.
