(After I put the phone down !)
Message on answer machine from Mrs D to say she wanted her hall and lounge doing again, then bursts into tears saying that they had had to put poor fido down and she was very upset but when could I do it?
Rang back, Mr D answered, "oh yes, bloody dog died at last, thank god"
Kept a straight face and arranged a date but still chuckling!

I'd be exactly the same as him if they put our stinking dog down... ;D

Hi Philip
I had a similar situation with a client who had his carpets cleaned every 6 months, June and December. He told me he'd have the suite cleaned once the aged cat had died.
When he phoned me one April I jokingly said "This is the wrong time of the year for you to be ringing.Has the cat died? Do you want the suite cleaning?"
His reply..
"Yes-about 2 hours ago. When can you come?"
(Good job we each understood each other's sense of humour.)

I must be soft I was incredibly upset when our labrador died at 15 years old and was shocked when his photo's appeared in all the kids bedrooms the next day. It really was like losing a member of the family.

I've had a few similar calls from my customers in the West of Scotland, but its not cats or dogs, its mother in laws!!! ;D ;D ;D

I find that hard to believe Stevie.
Surely in the West of Scotland most Mother in Laws are still in their 30s!
