My rather old 100 psi Shurflo runs smoothly most of the time. Every so often it suddenly makes a rattling noise like it's big-end has failed. It then runs smoothly again for a time. It's been doing this for months now and not got any worse but it sounds terminal when it does it.
I've taken the pump chamber off a couple of times and everything looks and feels in good condition.
I'm guessing it's a problem with something loose in the motor section but am wary of taking this apart without advice.
So..... as always - any help appreciated.

If it's an old pump maybee the bushes are on their way?

Thanks - I did wonder about the bushes but it can run quietly and smoothly for ages before going into rattle mode. When I turn the shaft with the pump housing off it feels quite secure and turns smoothly.
I'm hoping someone can talk me through a strip down to save me messing the whole thing up ;D

I thought I had a problem with mine, but then realised it was the outlet hose vibrating off the ply liner. It sounded like the pump was running rough.
