My trusty old 22CLX has had it ... its had more glue than a spotty teenage with a plastic bag under the railway arches and the top pole spins more than a pole dancer on speed.
Been putting it off but now slowing the job down.
I have a 27CLX as the second pole but prefer to use the 22CLX
so was about to order a new 22CLX @ £108 +VAT and checked the price of a 22SLX @ £199 +VAT then seen 25SLX @ £245 +VAT ...
weight of 25SLX same as my 22CLX and would cover 100% of all my work so no swapping poles but another £137 +VAT
22SLX nice and light so could buy that and will do 99% of work and just use the 27CLX on the odd job
or save my money and just buy the 22CLX as planned
Any thoughts or comments welcome :)

25 SLX all the way I now can't use the clx poles as the are to bendy and heavy!!!!!
you will not be disappointed Ian ;)
-
treat yourself to a new slx and you could always take a section or 2 off the clx 27 if you wanted
-
Don`t mess about with this decision Ian,i`ve done all the thinking, weighed up the pro`s and cons on your behalf and you not being a spring chicken(nor me) then its the extreme 25 by a country mile. Injury/strain prevention is better than a cure with wfp.

I am two days ahead of you Ian. My CLX22 is getting a bit tired and I have a SL25 arriving tomorrow :)
-
go for the slx22 shorter and lighter and will do most of your work regards alan
-
what ever you go for ...i am going too,i am ready to order a clx, treating myself for xmas and move on from the harris poles, thou they have been good, but every time i look on gardiners site i am tempted to go the extra and go for the slx, plus everyone on here sems to favour the slx so i am with you ;D

i got a clx27 not long a go, played with a slx25 on monday i wish i would of got one now :'( they are a LOT better.
-
I'd go for the 22slx - lighter and if you say it will cover nearly all the work then why pay the extra for the 25? Plus with the 25 you are using that extra weight all day long.

Treat yourself to a 25ft Super-Lite Xtreme, these really are the dogs danglies :)
been using one for the fast few months and going back to using an SLX would just feel like hard work :) trust me these poles make a serious difference to how knackered you feel at the end of a days work ;) imho there worth the extra money ;)

Clx 22 very light and rigid and best of all is the price.
Clx 27 is heavy and whippy.but the 22 is a pleasure to use.

SLX

i carry a 18ft slx and a 30ft slx, both with the carbon goosenecks.
This is what i use as it suits my round, the 18ft cleans probably 95 % of my work & the 30ft slx covers the rest.
Personally i think its better to have these two poles, as i wouldnt want to use a 25ft pole all day, just because it covers some of my work.
Hope that makes sense ??? ;D

Thanks for your thoughts everyone .... will find out tomorrow how much tax refund Im getting so will decie what to buy then :)

took your advice and ordered a 22SLX as my 27CLX will be fine for the odd job

after buying the new pole, why not get all the clamps and bits replaced on the clx, i think gardines do this service

did think about rebuilding my trusty old clx but top pole neds replacing and there about £30 so may just ebay it as it is

had my 25ft SLX since march.its way better than my 22ft clx.coupled with an extreme brush and aqua-daptor and flipfast its the perfect pole for all my work!
its defo worth the extra money for rigidity alone.i have lots of awkward windows on some parts of my round and it cleans them with the minimum of strain.
