Title: Two pump question
Post by: billy08 on November 27, 2011, 10:04:55 am
I'm trying to set up two pumps in my van.I've got a hose coming from tank to a tee and from there to the pumps,is this all I have to do or do I need non return valves or something, because at the moment neither pump is working, this could be an airlock which im trying to clear now!

Any help much appreciated,tim

try getting one pump to work first,  are the pumps  lower than the water level,     at the t bit  try sucking water till it gets there

put a pic up

You will not need a non-return valve. It is worth checking that all of the barbs on the pumps are screwed in tightly and the threads have been wrapped with PTFE tape. A slight air-leak here can prevent the pumps from priming properly. Also check that all of the hose clips are done up tightly.

If all else fails to prime them then suck on the outlets with the pump running until it primes - not usually needed though.

Just position the pumps as low as possible & as near the tank outlet as possible,.. you should never have an airlock again.  ;)

Also, when trying to prime the pumps, disconnect the reel & have the shortest length of hose possible after the pump.
