due to my former life as a Car Sales Manager where I worked 7 days a week most weeks promised myself wouldnt work Saturdays when I started window cleaning but got 2 connies and F/S/G so organised em for yesterday and as had lad with me threw in a dozen houses as well.
Nice earner ;D ;D and was good to be 2 up - roll on March when gonna employ a lad
got thinking though 2 saturdays a month at a very relaxed pace @ £100 ... extra £2400 ish a year ... not many jobs u can do that in
-
done the same a month a go, worked on sat and enjoyed it more than in the week so i do two a month,pick up work as well cos people not at work ...
::) ::)

Well I had last Saturday off and now I can't live with myself. ;D
-
Yup... Sat can be a great relaxed day, did a big 6 bed detached and all frames yesterday, 9.30 start, finish at 3... Happy days and 200 squid for the day, custys will pay more for weekend working, they see it as a favour to them...

I often work weekends myself. Saturdays commercial/domestic. Sundays usually just commercial though sometimes on domestic if there's a good reason. There are many jobs that can't be done safely in the week. I will take a day or two off here and there though if it gets too much - that might end up being midweek too.
When I first started window cleaning in 1991, I promised myself never to work on a weekend. I lasted about two years I think.
-
I'm considering working Tuesday to Saturday though the next summer hols:
1. Days with the kids will be shifted from the weekend when everyone else is around
2. More jobs picked up through people seeing you working - the few Saturdays I've worked have always resulted in more custom.

what about sunday on domestics is this shock horror
-
if your customers dont mind then go for it . i would tell anyone to p off if they rocked up on sunday but thats just me. i dont second guess my customers. not everyone thinks the same.
maybe a good idea to ask a few how they see it but i would feel like a prat working on that day.
imagine working on sunday and walk around the back of a house to clean and the garden is full of people having a BBQ. ...................

I worked Saturday too.
Case of three weeks on crutches = needs must.
-

The jobs I did today were the inside of a disco cleaning glass doors, perspex screens, mirrors behind bars etc while the other people get on with the general cleaning. Then I did a shop front because it's just around the corner (both these jobs are within walking distance of home and could prove useful in a freeze-up). Then I went to do a largish house. The owners are fine with this. It can't be cleaned Monday -Thursday due to confidentiality as they work from home and clients visit a lot. As they have restricted the cleaning to Fri-Sun, they are totally happy with me working any of those days. The last one was another house. They wanted an end of tenancy clean before December 7th. I told them the only way I could fit it in was to do it today. They were happy to get someone at short notice. A bit of a fiddly day but all extra "out of hours" money.

I worked yesterday and today. Nice, large driveway cleaned yesterday 09:00 to 14:00 ish and then returned today for a couple of hours as it was dry to brush the sand in and put the twenty odd big plant pots back in place.
I probably work every other saturday in general and don't feel guilty in taking time off during the week if I need to. when you are self employed you have to do what you can when you can {as long as the customer is happy :-0 }

work every sat and sunday 9 till 2pm!

I work every Saturday, always have. I have plenty of Saturday only customers who are out during the week and you can't get access.
Start later, finish earlier and more laid back generally, its a good day.
