Title: Is it the Norm
Post by: Neil Grainger on December 05, 2005, 05:34:53 pm
Is it Normal for Customers just to look for the cheapest price in December. All I seem to be getting is people that want everything for nothing and want it doing yesterday.

This is not normal for me but decembers customers seem different.

Hope everyone is busy,

I find it is the norm as there are a lot of cc advertising in the papers £10 a carpet/£30 a suite and they think everyone charges that price.Plus they want it done straight away I am fully booked for December now trying to fit regular customers in on Saturdays/Sundays but rather get them booked for January if I can which some are prepared to wait.

Neil

What happens is the last boggit & scarper guy that did it last time is busy.

So they will ring everybody & his dog expecting the same deal.

Trust me you dont need them.

Dave

PS My dog is a very good CC & charges more than me.

Strange but since starting this topic ive had some good jobs come in. People actualey want to pay for the service.

Hope this is the same for everyone, I sense that a mad rush is going to happen in the next few days.

Cheers

Neil

we've been noticing that this is the trend throughout the year.

it seems that people just don't want to pay for a professional service any more - no matter which field of work they want.

certainly with local authorities, the phrase 'best value' has been misconstrued to mean 'the cheapest'. I'm beginning to think that the private sector are beginning to have the same opinion.

its a shame as, like with most things, you tend to get what you've paid for.

(i'll stop the start of a terrible rant there  >:()

is anyone else experiencing this trend throughout the year, or do you just reackon its been happening in December?
