Title: Dye Transfer on white 80/20 wool
Post by: CarPete Cleaning on November 25, 2011, 07:43:38 am
Hi Guys,  A customer contacted me to check out a 'shading' problem on their brand new white 80/20 wool stair carpet.  Evidently the movers had placed 'drop sheets' which were more like the grey/blue soft blankets that movers use to pack around/between furniture.  Anyway, these were left down quite a while as they were having some building work done.  When they removed the drop sheets, there appears to have been some sort of dye-transfer from the sheets/blankets onto the carpet.
Has anyone come across this before and what would be the best treatment to remove.
Thanks,
Pete ???

Maybe a simple flush out will do the trick.
Make sure you get a diaclaimer signed otherwise you may end up with the problem.

If flushing with cold water doesnt work.

Mist a solution of Hydrogen Peroxide/Water on area and warm gently with a hair dryer.

Rinse with cold water.

I usually use 1:1 dilution and build heat gradually.
