Hi guys, I thought I'd post this in a few sections so I can get a bit of feedback. Am looking to upgrade the van. Anyone had any experience with the relay? Lookin at a lwb hi top. I know there are horror stories about every type of van, but just lookin for any owners experience.
Cheers,
Matt

My mates got one as his works van. The back springs are weak and sag badly. The diesel pressure regulators are £800 and seem to die regularly. The gearboxes are prone to premature death. The side door needs regular attention.
I went for a transit which I collected tonight ;D

Get a Transit mate, they rarely rust.

I've got a 190 on a P - only needs welding in 6 areas, power steering pipes, an injector, a brake hose and a good dung out :'( It can be seen on its last day out in the big van race at Winbledon on Boxing day

Lee, what's you big transit like? Any major Probs?
Whats the deal with the numbers on the transit? i would like a 1500kg payload.
Any other normal probs with the transits? see heaps on the road, they cant be that bad.
Sounds like the relays are abit of a nightmare.

Only probs I have is down to the weight I carry. Bought this one in January 2009. It had a clutch August 2009, then another July 2010 and another last month October. New brake pads every 9 months. Never a problem with the engine, always kept on the ball with oil. Never had any rust issues at MOT. Paid £2,000 for it. It's an X reg(2000). So at 11 year old it's ok. Maybe looking at a newer transit in the new year.
