Title: Prochem Steampro Powermax
Post by: Steve Weatherley on November 24, 2011, 05:39:04 pm
Is this machine any good?

I am currently using a Ninja 400psi but the running costs are just too high - for example a new pump head (only the head) - £222.50 + VAT. I have spent over £1000 in the last 6 months on this machine.

I am looking at the Prochem machine because I have a local supplier who can carry out repairs and a much more reasonable rate, not to mention the parts being considerably less

I know nothing about the machines, but the details in your post seem to answer the question, I'm looking to add carpets to my window cleaning. Was speaking to a guy yesterday who has a steampro and is moving to a Altec machine, but he did rate the steampro.

Hi...I run a steempro powermax with a clip on heater...The machine is great, it is the latest model with 150psi induction pump & high lift motors...Its ideal to get up stairs because of the big rear wheels. It fit in my van (upright) not on its back...Also its slim so it get through narrow door ways.

You say you have had machine for 4 Years  depends on what else you had done in 4 year period.

If for your  £1000 that included two new motors  you close to reconditioning  your Ninja

Apart from S teammate and heating element

I run a Steempro Powermax (with inline heater) as a backup for my Truckmount and also to use where there is no TM access.  It does a fine job and I would recommend it as a good machine.

Hi Steve
£222 + vat is a lot of dosh for your 205 pumptec pumphead complete.
You can do a lot better from a Pumptec Agent
