Just thought would be interesting to see how far we all travel for work.........what with the cost of fuel its getting pretty tough.
Me personally travel between 70+90 miles a day, the work is all compact, its just 35 miles each way to the villages where i work.
Are you doing anything to cut down on your travel/vehicle costs? Are you putting up your prices with the excuse of the soaring cost of living?
-
70 miles a day, some days i am lucky if i do more than 10
-
Half the month my work is mostly in the town where I live - after that, the furthest I travel is about 35miles (70 round trip) but its well priced work and I enjoy not being on my doorstep all the time or working 40odd hours a week in a factory!
Seriously considering a small increase in my local work in the new year tho - I admit a fair chunk is underpriced, but this is the work I took on when I started so not gonna complain about the hand that feeds :)

The vast majority of my stuff is under 3 miles. £20 in fuel a week does us.
-
Just got back from 5.30am this morning and done over 200 miles.
Its all good fun.

You do alot of large commercial work dont you dean? makes it more interesting travelling, i wish we travelled more, as once we get to the first job we do about 1-2 miles at most, unless we pop into town for a sausage bacon and egg! in the winter we get all larthagic on the 38 minute drive to work, but then once started dont get a chance to warm up inbetween houses!

They aren't too large mate,
Mainly shops and supermarkets.
I've been up to morecambe, cleveleys, blackpool, lytham and preston today,
I'm getting distressed now just thinking back about it ;D
-
;D ;D ;D
explains why its so distressing for you!!! gotta make sure it pays when travelling that far i guess. way to go tho to get the big chains, nice one.
-
I don't do it for the money so its not too bad ;D ;D

Giving a number is difficult. My furthest domestic job is about 20 miles. The nearest I walk to.
I do about 450-480 miles between diesel fill-ups. That will last me 2 weeks + a little bit sometimes - but there is a little bit of personal mileage in there too.
-
I will drive out to about 20 miles, but the bulk of what I do is ten to fifteen miles around and about.
-
Bulk of my stuff is 14 miles away

When i go trucking its 100 mile round trip. I always do 2 days together so kip in lorry in yard, after doing a 15 hour day cant be doing with travelling an hour home and spending a fortune in fuel.
With window cleaning i just try to do as full a day as i can to justify travelling. The odd day the weather gets the better of me, tho where i live in Ross it rains a lot more than where I work in Pershore, which is handy!
-
all within 2miles... takes 6k a month ;D ;D
