Title: scrubber drier
Post by: BSF on December 04, 2005, 01:47:18 pm
Hi all,

I’m in the process of purchasing a new scrubber drier, its going to be used daily on safety flooring, but some of the areas being cleaned are a bit short on space, toilet cubicles, locker rooms etc, price is of the essence, the budget is about £1000 maybe I’d go up to £1200 at a push.

Has any body got any sound advice on models to try or avoid?

Thanks

Paul

I would try looking for ex demos, you can sometimes get a good deal, i always ask before parting with my cash.
It may be you need to purchase 2 , 1 x large scrubber dryer and one small rotary machine to get in to the nooks and crannys in cubicles, ask at your local supplier, they do have them , so ask first.

Don't forget that tank capacity is a major consideration too. There's nothing worse than having to keep refilling a machine.

Having to refill a machine often increases the labour content of a job so a cheaper machine with a small capacity is not always the most cost effective.

Hi Chris & CMS,

Thanks for the input but I’m aware of these issues, I can appreciate that tank capacity is a problem, I really want members to recommend a decent machine, has anyone used a Karcher BR400? Are they any good? Can anyone suggest a better/larger alternative?

Regards

Paul

I think it might be a good idea to chat to  mike at express, i believe they sell them at around £1,700, he may give you the low down and im sure he will give you is honest opinion,(even discount...lol) or maybe something more in your p.range, i personally have not used one but i have not to my knowledge had any probs with any karcher products.

also try second hand scrubbers     http://www.clemas.co.uk/html/special_offers.html

Thanks for the input Chris!

I have given express a bit of business in the past, I use several suppliers at the moment, but its all down to cost, I have seen that Mike does have some good offers on the Numatic Scrubber driers at the moment, i'm meeting another supplier tommorow, i'll see what he has to say then maybe give express a call and see if they can better the deal.

Thanks

Paul
