How fast did you expect it to fill and what gpd rating is your R/O?
IMHO 55psi is ok but a little on the low side.

If you are running the water through an R/O that’s could be about right.

A faster way would be to have a static tank and fill that through your R/O when your working or over-night  then when you finish work, pump it from your static tank into your tank in your van with a  Submerged pump.

Takes me about an hour to fill up a 400lts tank.

speak to ruben ,
that a reasonable amout of water for a 40x40, you should be able to fine tune it with your valve set up , ie increase or lessen waste it may help a little ,
on our systems we allways fit a 12 volt booster pump which means you can produce about 4-5.5 liters aminute between 240- 330liters an hour ,
iam sure ionics will give you the help you need
