hi looking to get a new van very soon and was looking for advice on which models are best, mainly the engines really as dont want an under power version so anyone with these vans that could tell me which one they have and are you happy with them, what problems do they suffer from (if any really) and what the mpg like
i was thinking a combo at the moment the 1700 di one what are these like on mpg and power thanks?

Looked at both a couple of months back, got a Connect high roof, safely takes a 500l tank, and loads of room to spare.
Power wise, its a 90ps, drives very nicely, economy, I don't really take much notice as it needs what it needs. One day I will probably study it and work it out, but as it stands, I dont really worry too much as I cant do anything about it now I've bought it!!

I just got rid of my LWB Connect, the worse heap of crap I ever purchased, nothing but trouble with it so I'm picking up my BRAND NEW VIVARO tomorrow...........YIPPEEEEEE ;D ;D.............................. :P
I was like a kid in a sweet shop..............................."I want this one,I want this one"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SAD OR WHAT ;D

Swb connect, best van I've ever had!!! Bought a 07 vivaro last month as I needed the bigger payload/space and te vivaros are good vans, but I never would of got rid of my connect if I really didn't need to but needs must ;) great for a one man band IMO!!

I've got a transit connect, they are great vans, the lwb hi roof as a high payload, they have good engines, the combo would probably be better on fuel, but the connect is a bigger van which will come in handy.
Slash probably just had a bad one, all the research I did pointed to them being a great van. You will always get horror stories whatever vehicle you buy.

I've got a 1.7 dti combo with the bigger payload, - takes a 350l upright or a 400 flat with ease, wouldn't want to go any more than that.
With a full tank and rest of gear I was surprised how easy it went up some of the steep hills around here.
Haven't studied the fuel economy much - but I think it's somewhere between 40 to 50 mpg still, like concept - I put fuel in when it needs it
I'm hoping the Combo will last a couple more years - then I fancy a VW caddy - long wheel base

get a fiat doblo 06 onwards much better than the connect and combo i've used all 3 for wfp work and the doblo is just a better van all round.
the 1700 di is gutless, the 1.7 cdti 2000 is the one to go for in a combo

swb Connect 350l tank and occasionally a few extra 25 l drums , reliable, power to spare only problem i've found to date is it doesn't wash it's self :)
