i have just had to replace my sureflo pump in pump on my boxer 318. the damn thing kept on getting air locks after about 6 months use. new one is on and working perfect now. my queston is can the old one be salvaged at all or is scrap now? the old one still worked but i had to clear the airlock at least 5 -8 times a day and the pressure was awful.

Where did you get your new pump?
Simon

hi simon, i got it direct from hydramaster
-
Expensive, aren't they. :'(

Hi Luc
It sounds like it's either the pump head or there could have been a plumbing issue.
You could try putting it back on and see if the problem reappears.
Cheers
Doug
p.s mine went a couple of weeks ago too, but was bearings.

Simon, yep they are expensive :(, but they got it out to me the next day which was great. i wanted a price on some new solution hose as well. Wow really expensive. ended up buying 150ft of hose from joe bristor at wanders. a right result.
Doug, i checked and put new pipes and fittings on the plumbing but still had problems with the old pump. am thinking about taking it apart and replacing the bearings and head. maybe keep it in the van as backup.

Can you not buy a complete pump head and do a direct replacement?
I'm sure you can buy complete heads for flojet& shuffle pumps

Just get a Shurflo caravan pump, they are less than £45 and will do what you want.

These are good for pumps. The after sales service is excellent and good for spare parts when needed.
