Just a warning......
Friend of mine got a call recently to verify his name and address details for a directory.
Then received a bill for £200. Phoned the company to enquire why, as had not agreed to buy anything. Company rep said the phonecall had been recorded...upon playback it was his voice saying "yes" dubbed onto some questions he hadn't been asked......
....Company . Vericom. Canadian company....watch out!!!!

Thanks for the warning Tony.
We have had several similar calls from chancers "checking your details for your free business listing" etc.
There should be a law against this type of sales tactics.
Some unheard of charities are just as bad,we have been threatened with legal action if we did not pay what we had promised, which was absolutely nothing, because we had never even heard of them, just told them who my solicitor was and heard no more.
I always ask now if it is a sales call, and if it is tell them to get stuffed.

Hi Guys,
As soon as I find out the caller is not a customer I tell them I'm on telephone preference.
Some apologise , most put the phone down.
It's a good way of getting rid of nuisance calls.
Cheers
