All of the sites are sponsored by cleaning supply companies.

They pay the bills to keep it all running.(Not cheap)  ???

You cant really blame them for making their own products appear in the best possible light.  ;)

I think that the least censored is cleantalk.

Cheers
Chris

ps The censorship does seem to have gone a bit over the top lately  :(

I try to delete as little as possible.

We do not want people swearing.

We do not want people bringing Carpet Cleaning into Disrepute.

We do not like links to other Forums

We do not like people who undermine this Forum

We like helpful people who do not just seek information but our prepared to Give.Information

We do not like People to Continually promote their Cleaning supply companies, but do not mind the mention and disscusion of  new products.

We like newcomers to fill in their profile, area they based in etc

I am however just a humble Moderator.along with Doug

Somtimes Mike Boxall has to make Commercial decisions as he spends a lot of money promoting this Forum

Certain People have been Banned

Sounds good

I made a post about the moderators on the other forum not playing fair, and it get deleted that's why i got the hump, certain supplier uses that board through the mods, and then they cry foul when they think some one else might be doing the same, Gulity conscience I think. Lets face it you left the posts they refer to up!

Rather see a open forum with open ownership. like this

Hi Guys,

I can only say that Mike Boxall puts absolutely no pressure on me to delete anything or to promote his company.

I like to encourage a grown up , more technical/factual approach where CC's are supplied with genuine experience/knowledge from other CC's and suppliers.

Cheers

Doug

Paul

I have to say that the posts that are likely to be 'censored' are those from members who have made no other contribution other than commenting on how a forum is run!

My finger is already hovering over the 'delete topic' button I'm afraid......

My views are known on the censorship issue on the 'other' board, but part of the forum is to express your feeling of how the board is run, obviously in a well manner way.

Perhaps the Admin will allow a bit of tollerance and let this topic last it's natural course and fall away into yesterdays posts.

I just looked in, as I occasionally do and am wondering what's been going on!

Not long ago, I felt I was about to be barred, for upsetting some guys, who, in my opinion, were well OTT in their praise of a particular brand.

I agree with the concept of deletion, where posts are either offensive or blatantly supportive of a particular brand, but hope you all continue to gain from each others experiences.

I’ve been a member of this forum and others like it for some time. I’ve gained the benefit of valuable advice freely given by folk vastly more experienced than myself. Where I can, I have tried to return the favour if a question is asked about my specialty. When I make a reply I try to answer with what I know, rather than what I think I know …..about cleaning carpets.

It seems to me that some contributors have other agendas. Some seem only concerned with getting as many stars under their name as possible and contribute their opinion on every topic, even though their comments a plainly worthless. What’s worse is that they cut and paste their posts into all the other forums as well Another kind is mischief-makers that make personal attacks whilst timidly hiding under a pseudonym. A third kind of personality that seem to dominate the forums at the moment are the drama queens. They seem to live in a soap opera world of paranoia and screaming hysterical affront. They gossip like half-wit bottle blonds about conspiracies using the PM system.
.
I would like the sponsors of the forums to promote their products and services much more on the forum. They could confirm their commitment to high standards by deleting superfluous posting without apology. They could deal with reliability issues in the public domain so that potential customers would know they mean business when it comes to giving customer satisfaction. I would like to see the star rating system end and contributions should only be allowed from those willing to offer their true identity.

For me the cleaning forums have become less interesting. Perhaps that’s because everything that needs to be said about carpet cleaning has been said. It’s not rocket science after all. The moderators must be finding their task tedious lately and I respect the judgments they have to make. One thing’s for sure, something needs to change to make it worthwhile for the folks who pay for these forums to keep them going. Otherwise a valuable resource for newcomers to the trade will be lost

Alan,

I personally agree with almost all that you say.  There are some people on their own 'agenda' of one sort or another, although I don't think a little light hearted banter from time to time ever hurt anyone.

It's when it starts to get 'personal' that it really becomes tedious though.

Regards.

since ive been on this forum the info ive recivied is invaluable !!!!!!!!!

But I enjoy the banter, this site and other forums are more social events as well as a great commonwealth of knowledge, the banter makes it much more interesting and 99% of I dont find offensive, wich is prob credit to the moderators but I find the C/C trade has a bit of a family feel and theses sites promote that with the banter  ;)

Plus it's like Doug told my better half, when im on here im working, it's a break and peice of quiet from my hectic houshold

So let the banter and the INFO contributation continue  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
