Title: Considering carpet cleaning?
Post by: clairekuccuk39 on November 28, 2005, 10:14:26 pm
Hi everyone

Ive never posted on the carpet section before but have been reading the posts with interest for a while now.  Already have a window cleaning business at present in Southampton but was wondering if carpet cleaning could run alongside it? We have a Citroen Dispatch van and i was wondering if it would be suitable for some decent carpet cleaning equipment.  I dont really know much about the benefits of truck-mounts v portables and any advice on systems would be much appreciated.

Many many thanks everyone
Claire

Hello claire

That extracta machine is good but can I suggest that you have a look at the Alltyec machine on Ebay. It also comes with free marketing to help you in your carpet cleaning adventure and we are only 1hr from you near Basingstoke and will deliver.

Hi Claire,

Second hand equipment's a good idea to start with - if you decide carpet cleaning's not for you, you can always sell it on without losing too much. Make sure it's not an antique though!

Is this for an all-female company? If so, I might be able to get you some advice from another all-female carpet cleaning firm.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt,

I currently run a carpet cleaning and domestic cleaning company in hampshire. I work along side my husband but after christmas he is having to work more hours with his part time company. I was looking at carry on the carpet cleaning by myself. Would you be able to get your comapny of all female carpet cleaners to give me some advise.

Claire ,

There is a place for the fairer sex but it is worth bearing in mind that any twin vac machine is heavy and the triple vac / big pump beasts are going to be heavier still.

Might be worth looking at the dry carpet cleaning side where the equipment is lighter.

Cheers

Thanks Matt

Doug,

Thanks for advise. I know you will probably laugh but the problem I have is that the machines are too heavy.

Would the dry carpet cleaning machine be alot lighter and how much would it be to buy?

Thanks
kim

If you go down the T/M route, wich would be the best route imo if struggling with a porty. When trying one out, try too see if you can get hold of a green glide for the wand, my T/M sucks like a, well it sucks a lot and my partner Claire suffers pushing the wand but with a glide she goes like the rest of us. she has no probs runing a T/M even on a 9 floor tower block
