Title: Prochem heat and run
Post by: mike roberts on November 16, 2011, 07:58:30 pm
Hi all,
Have a heat and run that keeps leaking from connector hose lower attach...

Is it a matter of replacing hose or is there another fix  ?? Have tried cleaning conn - Ptfe tape works as a temp fix then problem starts again assume due to heat  :(

thks mike

Is it leaking where the metal pipe comes out of the body of the unit ?
Don't overtighten it,they are a mare, had to get a mate to fix mine as the brass just crumbled away.
Mine leaks where the thermostats are, behind the black metal plate, had to undo it a bit as it was filling with fluid over time, and coming into contact with the eletrics.

Have you changed the connector recently. I remember us having a similar one and it was down to the coupling being the wrong thread type. I forget which way it went but it was either metric, af or imperial when it should have been another of the 3. Fine until it got hot.

nope... not sure if its 'seating' properly looks a bit worn... will get a price from prchem to replace hose... we also have a commercial customer who can probably make hose up.. give that a go as well
