Title: scratching frames

Have done a search for this, but cant see anything about it:


I have noticed in the 2 years of WFP'ing that I seem to be scratching the frames, and particularly the cills, of white pvc windows with the edges of my xTel gardiners pole brush.  Obviously I am being a little over vigorous with the brush, is there anything that I am doing wrong besides this, or does this happen alot?

And what can I use to get it off, its starting to look a little messy on certain windows/houses; presumably its the platic just marking the window frame, so its not scratching or damaging the pvc in itself?

I use Jif cream (the lidls version actually) and one of those flat plastic washing up scouring pads, gets shoe and other scuffs off door frames as well as brush scuffs off window cills and frames.  Always a good thing to do with Chrimbo tips due hopefully!!

try JML doctor power i get it from macro's but i think asda sell it great stuff about £4 comes with scourer as well ive not yet found anything it wont shift

i also use jif cream as well, with an old scrim.

ok, thanks for advice guys, will try it, was just wondering if it was damaging the frames or just marking the plastic.

where we've just moved they haven't been cleaned regularly, would be interesting to see how they clean up. will give it a go.

Are you sure ? Which brush are you using or is it the pole catching the frame ? I'd be surprised if it's the brush doing it as it would have to be seriously stiff.

its not the most bristliest of brushes, xTel Gardiner lite. I think its where the outside of the brush head itself has caught the frames.
