Who uses them to dry carpets on every job?
I use them on all my jobs I find that even 10 mins blast will considerably aid drying.

Only ever use mine to dry fabric sofas.

Depends on how big the rooms are and what's in them.
Some small rooms it's impractical.
Don't you find they blow a lot of dust around a lot of the
time?
I have the Ashby one which is pretty powerful just on
setting one.

With the multiwash, the kirby, and the sebo I don't have room to carry one all the time. If I have upholstery to do I'll put the drier up front with me but I don't like the fact its so big and moves around too much.
-
yes .. carried and used on both carpets and sofas..
-
Don’t need to uses them on site I’ve got the wander wands and cfr hand tools. ;D
Only use them on rug at my plant ;)
-
i carry one with me all the time in case my hair gets wet ;D

Nearlly always have the snail dryer on the van, like you Shaun i find even 10 mins can make a hell of a differance.
Ive got a whole room dryer that sits in my spare room but im sure it will come in handy one day, probably the day after I sell it ;D

I think drying is part of the clean it's all part of convenience for the customer.

Open gas fires are very popular in my area and I have been caught out a couple of times with soot blowing onto the freshly cleaned carpet.

Mainly on upholstery for me or when i have had a skin full the night before and sweat alot :P

I carry two DriEaz Ace dryers (the axial ones). They're really powerful, not quite the thump of a snail type but that's good because they don't blow pictures off walls! They spread theair out well and are great for both carpets and suites.
Just like you Shaun I will use them on almost every job and find even a 10 minute blast makes the world of difference.
I think a lot of people consider an airmover to be a faff and adds time to the job, but it doesn't have to be at all, you just need to adapt it in to your routine. When doing carpets I take the airmover to the first room and stick it on the first bit of clean carpet... then for the rest of the job it just gets shifted a couple of times as I go round.
At the end of the job, by the time everything's packed up and you switch the airmovers off you've got a big chunk of the carpets touch dry.

I try and use the turbo dryer too on most of my jobs..Prob just a habbit and also its part of the service i use..
Always use them on fabrics too..
-
slightly amazed by some of the comments ??? ???
Carpet cleaning is only part of our business.... But when we carry out cc always carry turbo, always dry carpets which lead onto hard floors to help prevent customers from slipping - part of the job ?!
This is especially important in some of our ederly customers homes or its an accident waiting to happen.
We still / also point out risk to customers from slipping.. as has been posted simply position turbo for best effect once rooms have been cleaned.

I'm amazed at how many people say "Oh, the last Carpet cleaner didn't have one of those [Snail]"
I will leave it at customers houses when I've cleaned a suite too with full instructions (ie, don't point it directly at a coal fire) :-X

Sit a piece of MDF on it and you've got an easily moveable coffee table, just like I've had in my garage for a while now. ;D

Mine are just used for fire and flood restoration.
Good skills and wanding/handtool practices sort out the drying times for my carpet and upholstery cleaning 8)

I have that t-shirt. Its a little sooty though.
The joys of employing a teenager.
My dad was not impressed.

Don't move them when switched on, its a nightmare totting up the cost of that Wedgewood china as it slides of the end of the mantelpeice. :'(
-
I also sold 20 too a lot numpty, :-* am also so frugal with my fuel bill less weight more miles 8)

Today I thought I'd impress Mr & Mrs Posh with how quick I could dry their longe carpet, afterall they make a point of making sure I wasn't Chemdry before we started. Not sure what was going on there, was it the word Chem or the fact they HWE that put them off? trying to have a conversation with them was nigh on impossible because they are the sort that ask a question, and as you start answering, they start talking over you......and these people are the sort at the top of the country who can't understand simple things that make the world turn.
Anyway they kept on about "we have a dehumidifier" and how they would set it up to dry the carpet quicker ;D I just ignored them and set the snail up as I got on with the stairs. I only turned my back for a few minutes to find that they had set their dehumid up, even though the carpet was dry thanks to the snail.
