Title: Read Publications ISG
Post by: petski2 on November 15, 2011, 04:28:54 pm
Had a message on my answer machine today from a girl called Rebecca from Read Publications.
They apparently publish the ISG which is an independant suppliers guide, this is ditributed to all the council purchasing people in you area.I have found this info out via google as I dont want to call her back till I have some info.
What I cant find is any references about this guide,ie.is it any good and would I get any work from it.
Has anyone on here ever used it and if so is it worth it?
I believe its around £40 to get your company listed.
Thanks in advance.
Pete

It will be a con  :o a bit like the one where the guy contacts you to be included in the police forces handbook. They send you out a copy when it's printed but you never know if it has been distributed. Conveniently for them they will have a debt collection agency working from the same office ( googled Portman Consultancy Ltd ) to chase you for the money.

I have experience of this and was contacted recently when i queried it they hung up pretty sharpish...

just because its sent to all the purchasing people in the councils doesn't mean they have to use them?
its just a sales tactic for advertising companies

spend your money on good leaflets

Just did a little more research and it seems to be a common scam theses days to try to sell advertising in some sort of booklet/directory that is never distributed.
