Dropped a right clanger yesterday. Got home and went to do my usual... clean van and equipment and get ready for next day when i noticed my sebo missing. Oh no...where had it gone. Surly it had not been nicked when i went for a pi**. No... I though can,t have van was locked. Then it hit me... I had left it at the last customers house. Had go back to collect it today. Customers husband answered the door and told me he though wife had been on a spending spree... new hoover and new living room carpet. Any one else left things a customers houses?

Left my coat a couple of times, i now hang it on the inside of the front door.

I left half a tub of Enzall at a customers house about two months ago. Went back for it like, thats £12 worth of product!!! :)
A friend of mine that is a joiner left an expensive drill at a customers house once. He went back the next day to pick it up and the customer denied it was there >:(
Left a few towels at customers houses over the years too.

Years ago when i used to prevac I left my sebo behind loads of times. These days its usually a spotter bottle of some description, but mainly SLIDERS. Bloody things this year i must have lost/left about 20 of the damn things >:(

The wife ;D ;D ;D only joking..Door wedges & jumper.

all of the above and probably all of whats to follow ;D

Funny I had just been thinking about starting this very same thread myself after my latest debacle.
Mostly it's been spotter bottles and the like and in many cases the client has been kind enough to ring and let me know. A few times it's been a coat because it's cold when you arrive and you are boiling when you leave and don't think about your coat.
Funny isn't it that the further away from home you are the more likely you are to leave something.
I do remember a helper once saying as he slammed the door to a rental property, inhabited by students, "you have got the property keys, haven't you?" I must confess he did make an excellent housebreaker getting back in through the bathroom window!!
Often you find if clients try and help you get equipment out of the house is the time you tend to lose control of where you are upto in packing up.
As long as I have my diary, phone and ambulance keys then I can at least cope with any other forgetful disaster.

Tony carpet dawg left his trousers at one a few weeks ago, keeps going back to "find" them :D :D :D

Left a few things over the years, the funniest was a horsehair brush a Jack Russell nicked and hid in his bed. The customer found it the next day, I hadn't even missed it. ;D
-
I bet the bloody horse did!!!
-
He did, he rang up to complain, so I said "Why the long face".

I left a sprayer at a customer's house once. She gave me it back 8 months later when I did more work for her.
She had told me she had been using it to spray the nice smell into rooms as she liked it so much - it was Chemspec Heavy Duty Soil Lifter! :o
-
I have taken several cats from houses , something in Chem dry chemicals attracts cats , they were always sneaking into the van and hiding , it has not happened since I stopped with Chem dry.
-
Hahaha I kidnapped a dog once, was in the back of the van where it had taken my lunch to eat it!!!
It was at a job over 20 miles from home, luckily I noticed only a few minutes down the road!!
-
Mostly leave the small things behind - bottles of spotter, sliders, etc.. Just stuff that gets scattered around during the course of a job. Did leave a nice jumper behind in my last job of the week last week though. Customer kindly dropped it off at my house an hour later.
I will always have a final look round to see if I've left anything. Still leave the odd bit behind though.

Left my wand in a Blind mans bath. After I left he filled the bath.Ten minutes later he climbed in the bath.He rang me up, and said that the hose end nearly went up his arse.Luckily no damage done to his bum and my kit.Put phone down and nearly collapsed with laughter.
