Hi all,
Starting to crack down on the non payers as it has previously cost me a couple of grands worth of write offs I reckon.
I cleaned for a lady on a regular basis up until september last year when she ended up owing me for 2 x cleans amounting to £30. I dropped a couple of notes in her door October and November to which I got no reply. See her in December and she gives it the sob story that she was embarrassed that she had lost her job and couldn't afford to pay the bill.
She asks me nicely to come back in February once she's settled into her new job and getting a regular income again. No problems i'll pop back then. Been chasing it ever since and her fella even came out once (about august this year) to tell me that they were moving to America at the weekend and they never had any money handy.
I caught her in at the end of last month and said I'd be taking legal action if I didn't get the money. Low and behold I went round to collect it a couple of nights ago.
Going to adopt this attitude towards every low life scumbag who thinks they can take the p**s and get away with it from now on.

There is nothing worse than doing a job and not bean paid. Also if you have someone work for you and you have paid them to clean it you loose loose. In 28 years I have been caught once, they moved to Lemming-ton Spar owing 3 cleans, I did make efforts to find them but so far drawn a blank.
But I never give up chasing, I love it its like a game and I have some really good stories to tell. There is no greater satisfaction when they pay.
Some say forget it and move on, that's what they want you to do.
I had a window cleaner bounce a cheque on me for some equipment, and by the time the bank told me it had bounced he had moved. I made some inquiry's from other window cleaners in the Forest of Dean and was told he was moving to London.
But he had spotted his car on a housing estate 10 mile away at his girl friends mothers place. They were staying there for 2 days before moving. I got there a seven in the morning and waited, this guy had never seen me as he ordered by letter with cheque. As his daughter ran up to the car, I got out called his name and shook his hand and said " Hi I'm Roy Harding you bounced a cheque for window cleaning equipment. Then you get that struck by lightning look, he got his girl friend out of bed and I drove her to get her family allowance.
I know I'm a git but hell, I see it as they have tried it on.

i would love too be like that but i have to let these things go due to having to much rage, its not good for me :'(

I really don't like to keep chasing money from bad payers, I do give them hand letters through the door, I do remind them about payments by email if online payers. Live is just to short to keep having to do this (mainly new customers) and i reckon we offer them to many choices of payment.
Anyway the customers who are now taking the pee, I have email them saying we will not be bothering to chase money owing anymore (these are the ones that keep owing for months)If you feel some sort of guilt after this email please kindly send the payment you owe me to children in need or a local charity of your choice (most of you will give it to yourself s, but at least charity as now help you.
