I notice a lot of carpet cleaners don't seem to wear a uniform and just turn up in a tee shirt, jeans and trainers which IMO misses an opportunity to look the part and impress the customer.

I think this should be our standard uniform !!! ;D ;D ;D
-
Black Polo shirt with logo on breast and large print on back, grey dickies trousers, and trainers. And when it gets cooler a tracksuit top which I sourced in orange/black business colours with logo.
Like they say 'Professional look doesn't have to cost a fortune.'
-
Black Work Pants, White polo shirt with logo and trainers.
-
I think for the prices some of you guys charge, you should at least have the decency to wear a robber's mask ;D
-
I've recently changed my uniform for a navy blue short sleeved shirt with logo above left breast pocket and website on right sleeve with details on the back. I always carry business cards as I get stopped a lot and asked for one...
-
i have a business card holder sewn into my polo shirt so people can take one whenever they like.

Logo polo shirt, black jeans, and hiking boots.

Logo polo shirt, black jeans, and hiking boots.
WHAT :o You wear hiking boots in peoples properties?
-
I was going to say that as well Neil
:o :o :o
-
What's wrong with hiking boots you should see some of the stuff we have to walk in to get the carpet clean ;D
-
I wear steel toe capped boots... Those girly gay crocs don't much protect your toes when an oven door or any other equipment, furniture etc drops on them.
As long as you wear over-shoes boots, hiking/work boots are just the job....

Have to ask because it has been puzzling me for a while, why would you feel the need to wear overshoes before/whilst cleaning a dirty carpet? I have noticed it on a couple of you tube videos as well and thought that it was pretty pointless!
Look smart, wear sensible shoes that will protect your feet whilst working, at which stage I would say crocs are pretty unsuitable (as well as unprofessional) as they offer almost no protection and you may as well wear a pair of flip flops, when finished and asking the customer to inspect the work hand them a pair of "complimentary" overshoes which are theirs to keep! and put some on yourself to discuss the work you have done.
Or am I missing something and wearing overshoes whilst cleaning should be a fundamental part of my cleaning practices?

if you never had to walk on the cleaned carpet then no point in overshoes but we do walk on the carpet once we've cleaned it
we put furniture back, we treat spots, we re3-clean in front of the settee, we walk across to pick up the airmovers we placed to dry the carpet.
i wear blue booties over my socks, then i wear crocs, i like crocs as the are easy to slip on & off at the front door so i never wear my out door shoes in the customers house, what if you are cleaning the bedrooms? would you wear your outdoor shoes as you walk in the hall & up the stairs
but this is what you have to do when you offer a premium, top price service, it I was a £30 a livingroom cleaner I would wear my old Doc martins :D

I wear trainers I keep for indoors whilst working, but put overshoes on when going back to 'cleaned' areas to rake and deodorise. It just shows to the customer that these carpets are NOW clean and I have no intention of the slightest chance of getting dirt back on them.
-
I view the wearing of overshoes as being a small part of the overall customer service package - it shows a certain level of respect for their home - they cost pennies and the customer always comments on them.
Just one more thing for them to remember you by.

Mike
I can only guess you have trouble reading, I asked whilst cleaning, or you didnt get that!!
And why, would you need to reclean in front of a sofa? was the customer not happy with your work? surely with you big shiny truckmount and your premium service that would never happen!!!!
Tony
I asked a simple question and you have to try and prove your bigger and better and take pathetic pot shots, whats wrong with you?
