Title: oil filled rad worked a treat!

Thought id try it out las night.brought hosereel/trolley/Di inside.had radiator on a low setting.no frost on tank or windscreen at all!cost around 60p to leave on all night.I think ill have to have it on a higher heat setting when its really cold though.

What setting to you guys have yours on?

I experienced the same phenomenon myself this morning! the funny thing was tho, I didn't have any heater in!  :o

helped I'm sure bt lack of frost I'm sure....

last winter I had fan heater in there, pretty high at times too. kept van nice and unfrozen, prob cost me a bit tho. felt the fan heater circulated the air better, had all my filters in there too which wanted to be certain would not freeze. this year no filters in van so will buy oil filled rad I think as cheaper to run. also want to insulate and ply van out to keep heat in.

how do u know how much cost daz?

Daz you can leave all your gear in mate, you'll be suprised how toast it is in there, trust me mate i have never had any of my kit fail when ive had a rad in the van

Is your van insulated or are the uninsulated sides and top holding in enough heat?

Hi Daz I found OFR not quite up to job when it got really cold so switched to non fan convector heater 1500 watts from memory about 30ish quid from b and q only needed low to mid setting

Ice and frost here in manchester this morning.Ian my radiator goes up to 1500w heat setting.I had it on 300w lowest last night though.no vin no insulation in my van at all.

blimey its still about 7 0c at night here in lincolnshire

yes its all insulated Vin, to be honest i dont see why you would by a kit and not insulate the van

same here Daz as im only down the road from you in Knowsley, i was out in my car last night and that was showing 1oC. cold nights are on the way, good job ive just made my static system in the garage
