i got 2 di vessels, and both of them leak, sick of ptfeing them no matter what i do they still leak from the neck and the joints, why have you done to stop yours from leaking, van ends up soaking wet at end of the day

Replace the male threaded connectors for new hozelock ones. PTFE each one with generous wraps of tape, enough wraps so it looks like it wont go back in!
Replace female connectors for new hozelock ones. ;)
-
which are the hoselock ones, do you have a link
-
its hozelock, as In your normal garden hose pipe fittings you get from any garden center.
and yes you need ptfe tape like nobody's business to stop those leaks.
-
i already use them and they leak like hell, i buy them off a wfp supplier near me, i have even thougth of removing my di vessels and making it a delivery system only
-
Genuine Hozelock males are yellow. I also use genuine Hozelock females for mi two DI's. I have zero leaks. You can get both from B&Q, homebase etc. ;)
Plenty of PTFE on the males is a must.

dont listen to wimpo , hes usually wrong ;)

the ones i have are orange

Mine has a brass fitting with the hose jubilee clipped, can't you find barbed fittings then jubilee them up!
Rob.

I put mine in the garage - never leak now.
-
where are they leaking from ?? - the threads or the hozelock connectors ?
if its the threads for the water in & out go to a decent plumbers and get brass threaded connectors - male thread
each end - these will be tapered so PTFE and screw in the tape and taper will make it water tight - the other end
screw on the hozelock fitting ( one used to fit household tap )
if the main thread leaks on the actual bottle then you prob need a new 'o' ring
if your hozelock fitting leak put on new 'o' rings and lubricate them regularly with silicone grease - this
stops the rubber drying out and keeps it a good seal

tested it today, the connectors dont leak but the top of the vessel where it screws in still does, going to get a new rubber for it in the morning

Unless you can see actual damage to the rubber ring it's more likely to be resin beads interfering with the seal where the rubber ring sits either on the canister or on the lid. It's a good idea to thoroughly clean both of these and smear a small amount of Vaseline on the rubber O ring before re-assembling. This may well sort the problem out for you.
We do not keep spare rings in stock but they can be ordered from Gaps Water, etc.
-
Vaseline is not good for rubber O rings as it is petroleum based and can make it dry out and crack. As the O ring is mostly made of latex you would be better off using a silicone based lubricant.

Good point. I was going to suggest silicone gel lubricant but I doubted that Pope Vader had any to hand and Vaseline will work well enough to prove whether the seal needs replacing or not.

what you trying to say alex, what type of person do you think i am, have vaseline hanging around lol ;D

NITO DI fittings. Sorted. The new metal hoselock connectors are pretty good but I bought these NITO ones ages ago, and they are fantastic. Expensive though.
