Title: Anyone advertise here with Checkatrade?
Post by: benny d on November 24, 2005, 06:44:50 pm
http://www.vetted.com/CheckaTradeHome.aspx

I have been contacted by Checatrade for the second time in a few months because a customer of mine was very pleased with my work and got onto them. They called and asked if I wanted to join them for a certain amount of dosh, for either the of the two advertising levels.Expensive and very expensive  :o
I said I would think about it, but I was wondering if anyone here has info, and does it work, and is it worth the quite large outlay?
Thanks in advance

>>How much are they asking for ?<<

Approx £ 390.00 to be on the web page, and have stickers for the van and a few other things.
Approx £ 600.00 to be in the Checkatrade broucher (spelling?) and all the above.

So you are saying they contacted you because a customer phoned them and said you did a good job? If that is the only criteria they have for membership seems a bit suspect. A lot of old biddies recommend people because they were canny, even though the work they carried out was absolute crap. My brother in laws a case in point, his mother in law recommended a tiler, she says he was a canny bloke and did a good job. You want to see the clip of his bathroom!
