Title: Birthday money.

Hi all its my birthday soon and i will be expecting alot of cash coming my way.
Just need some advise about sticking it in the bank. Would it raise suspicions with the tax man?

Yes, if investigated, the tax man would ask questions.

Dont stick it in an account you use for business and you should be fine. One thing i would do is make a note of where it has come from just incase the tax man asks in future.... i believe they check personal accounts too

They'll ask to see the winning tickets from the bookies. It's up to you to prove where it comes from. Guilty until you can prove yourself innocent as far as HMRC are concerned.
