As these months are known to be quiet months for a lot of carpet cleaners. What are you lot doing to ensure that you stay busy through this period?

Double up on the advertising!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A strong offer to tempt the clients!!!

Sorry, forgot to say, it is also a good time for your annual holiday!!
2/3 weeks somewhere exotic is simply the best way to see through so cold winter mornings!
That's why I work so hard now so I can pay for it and go!!!!

Glad of the rest to be honest, January is always ok anyway and there is still work in Feb/March and then its work work work again.
I used to worry my head off about quite times, but not now, life's too short!

Commercial work - mail shots out first week of Jan
Strong special offer to existing clients
Free room offer to attract new clients
Offer a big discount to all your cleans if they pre-book for the same time the following year
Talk to retailers - it's a high point for 'Scotchguarding' - carpets + furniture sold in the Jan sales
THEN go on holiday!

I read somewhere that the lowest discount that will attract a caller/buyer is 20%, anything less isn't strong enough to pull them.
A very old and respectable cc uses and probably invented "buy one get everything else half price"
Also I saw this in a shop window but have obviously changed it to suit your needs "have 3 carpets cleaned and recieve 25% off the total cost" it's an upsell to make the client buy more.
IMO discounting is only good if you get them to buy in bulk and at a time when YOU want them. Give a reason for the SALE ie out of season offer or "My chemical manufacturer is having a sale and I am passing the savings on to you so book now as his sale will not last long"

Hi Guys,
Firstly I store up work from December by putting those not bothered before Xmas into JaN.
I have also cultivated commercials for this time , remember its not just us who are busy up to Xmas.
Thirdly don't get too doom and gloom , I'm convinced the main reason I'm consistently busy , apart from my obvoious CC brilliance ;), is that my advertising is consistent.
Don't try to prejudge the market.
Cheers

I have just built a new workshop for wood working. So now I can spend a bit of time setting it all out and getting new machinery so that I can start to play in the New Year.
I am also starting a second business which has huge potential and is not related to CC, so I am excited. My computerised accounts tell me that I am up on last year so I am not worried at all. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

If you’re not busy moving a wand there are many other things we can be doing instead to keep us busy... Risk assessment forms, Method statements, H & S policy etc.. all the necessary forms, policies and procedures that we all have in place for each of the commercial jobs we do...... don't we ;D ;D
(guess who went to the ncca roadshow ;) ;D)

yeah but they only take a little while to construct :-*
