i think the tds of water is a con,  i have used water up to 100 (by accident and didnt get a single problem, i was just using a higher flow rate)

they say we need a tds of 000 to keep the windows spotless,  yet many have gone over and had no problems,  yet you can get spots at 000  but then you can use the excuse that it is a first clean and spots are expected

I have been up to 35 by accident and not had a problem, regularly let it go up to 15 before a resin change.

do a search mate. there's been loads of topics on this already. I go up to 15 before I start to see marks on certain windows. keep a sharp eye on it after 10ppm.

The tap water PPM level doubles this time of year (at least where I am in the northwest) so my DI needs changing a lot quicker all of a sudden. :-\

anything over 15ppm has caused me problems, even if it is just
slight spotting.

night falls earlier now so will be strong possibility any mistakes
are covered up. ;D

my personal feeling is if your intial cleans over the first few months
are done with oooppm and all ingrained dirt has been pulled out
of frames etc,on 4 weekly maintenance cleans you will get no
or minimal problems from a slightly higher tds

my tap water measures 58ppm and there is no way i would use
it,i tried on my own windows and it left a right mess

I quite agree, I don't even use resin anymore...simply water from my RO at 16-20 TDS.  No lost customers and no spotting (I often clean inside windows so can see).  The key is high water flow, not measured it but number 4 on my Varistream.

I think it s all basically down to 3 things:

1. quality of glass, ie sheeting or not
2.  how dirty to start off with, and how well you rinse
3.  whether this is in the sun or not.

I have seen definite spotting at over 15ppm so cant see how some are getting "pure" windows 4 or 5 times this pure!  Perhaps we have different ideas as to what is clean!!  ::) :D

All I can say is, once you get above 10, keep a very close eye on it.  And if you are like me and have a static IBC now, remember that it will take a while for the now unpure water in the tank to be diluted with the pure stuff you will be putting in (depending on your setup).

Yep keep it at 000. Then any problems are down to user error, not water quality.

I have been working sometimes at 22, ... the average is 0 - 30ppm. But I reckon 30 it's to risky here in the South.

Mine stayed at 0000 for about a year i was`nt using it a great deal for the first couple of months since then probably between 200-250 litres a day, flushing once a week for 10mins i have replaced the carbon/sediment fiters every 3months, yet to change the resin though ;D ;D

When you have a TDS of say 15 it does not mean all water at 15 will be the same. It will depend on the nature of the chemical and trace elements in that water. Some of the elements are in  a suspension, some are in solution and some are gasses. This mixture will determined the out come of your cleaning result.  So in  conclusion if we took water from say 10 areas in the U K and all had a TDs 15 and we analysed  then each one would contain different chemicals. Some would spots some not and some will form spots with persistent use of the same water.
