Title: Anyone cleaning supermarket trollies?
Post by: CMS on November 17, 2005, 05:19:14 pm
Some years ago (mid 80's) I was responsible for cleaning at 20 Tesco stores in the South West.

At the time we had a guy visiting with a pressure washer jetting off the wheels of supermarket trollies at 50 pence a trolley!!!

It was the trollies (including the 'shelf stacking trollies') that left black lines around the floor of the store.

When you consider how many there are at each store and the way they are stowed inside each other it doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out that there's good money to be made there.

Does anyone still do this?

Our equipment set up self contained water 200 bar 20 ltrs min 90deg C.
Is ideal for this work so we have approached the big names. All told us its done under national contract so could not get an in.
I have seen it being done at local ASDA sure enough plane white van no logos and definately not local.

Cheers

I have seen them loaded onto a big truck at Morrisons where they are taken away for reconditioning.
