Title: 1st accident at work

Hi

Can anyone help? One of our employees has just had a fall down about 4 steps at a client's house and the ankle is swollen. I have all the health and safety up to date amd the cause of the fall was sue to the fact that she was trying to carry too much instead of amking two joureys. I don't suppose anyone who help me by showing me a accident report sheet? or just outloining what needs to be on one?

Hang on, I'll just go on another PC and email you a form. It's a 'Managers Investigation Form' which should cover what you need.

Don't you HAVE to have an accident book!!
I'd get one a bit sharpish.

Yes you do have to have an accident book (or at least access to one which isn't the same thing). The form I mentioned is to help with an accident investigation so nothing is forgotten.

The forms are great I just wanted to make sure I have everything covered. She is still at the hospital so it's not looking good!

Hi

She has torn a ligament in her foot but it is not broken  :(. I've got the lovely task of doing all the paperwork today.  >:(. I think I have got everything orgnised but if anyoine has ben through this before and would like to give me some advice (just in general) that would be great. Thanks to those who replied

You may have a legal responsibility under the 'Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995' (RIDDOR).

Pardon my ignorance but I hear that the Federation of Small Businesses is great ... well worth the £130 or so annual fee for the endless legal advice! Worth looking into I have spoken to a couple of small business owners  when I myself was a bit skeptical. Anyway thought I'd give it a mention as my past experience was managing a law office and working in law offices for the past umpteen years!

Attorneys work for about £150 an hour!
