Title: Removing Oil stains

Hi Guys i do a little bit of pressure washing as an add on to my window cleaning business

i have had a call today to remove oil from a driveway any suggestions as to removing it

at the moment i don't know what surface it is as the customer the estate agent didn't have that info i will update tomorrow when i have been and looked.

but any suggestions would be appreciated

It all depends on what surface its on as you cannot use any solvant on tarmac whereas you can on concrete or blocks etc

Assuming motor oil go for OT8. If Tarmac then Bio TA.

OT8 is great, BIO TA good but Tarmac's a whole different ball game.

No guarantees though and if no joy then replace the blocks.

Hi guys ive just got back from looking at the job and it is on crazy paving

is there anything i can buy locally eg b&q wickes est to remove this as i have no time to order chemicals in as they want it doing this weekend.

Few reclaimed flagstones - muscles to lift one up and drop on floor - pick up pieces and replace the stained one's.

Oil stains = miracles. No time for them, you'll never shift it all.

thanks for your reply's guys i think i will just leave it alone then as there's not great deal of oil on them and the landlord is moaning at the estate agent,

its an old driveway with very little oil on it so she will expect it all removed

just paving stone same as what council use on footpath

Mark,

Seeing as you don't have the time scale to order in, the big sheds stock Thompson's oil stain remover, which I know a couple of people of here have used and have said it worked for them, but if you have time for the client to wait then Resiblock OR is about the best that is around at the present time IMO.
OT8 is also good, I use this as a second application if the stain is stubborn and the Resiblock OR didn't quite get it first time.

All the above are fine on concrete slabs-paving
