Title: First day with resi neck
Post by: Lee GLS on October 26, 2011, 05:03:17 pm
Ive been using the new gardiners resi neck today, and all I can say is, it's brilliant. I've been wanting to try a swivel for a long time but never liked to t
Look of the white plastic thing they sell, but once this came out I ordered it and it's brilliant, make life so much easier, awkward windows over conservatorys are some much easier to get to, and i can clean patio doors without bending, absolutely fantastic.

If you are like me and have never used a swivel, get one ASAP  ;D

Are they only suitable if you rinse brush on the glass?

No. The brush swivel is side to side, not up and down.

You "set" the resistance (how tight it swivels) via a little recessed screw on the top. Have it as free or as tight as you like.

The best tension IMO is just enough so that the brush doesn't flop to one side when you lift off but still swivels freely on the glass. A bit of oil on the swivel also helps smooth action.

I have the lever on the left hand side & underneath (as oppose to on top)

I just thought the way you controlled the brush was by exerting pressure with brush on the glass. I guess winprocleans answer explains it.

Lee, I don't know if you have seen them but this is what I have got http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/info%5fRESI%5fNECK%5fT2%5fSWIVEL%2ehtml

If you put your brush on the glass the twist the pole handle, then the brush will swivel live a windscreen wiper, so if you have a window that is over a conservatory, or a window you cannot stand directly under, you can twist the pole, and the brush will swivel and stay parallel with the top of the frame, and will sit flat on the glass.

That's the best I can explain it, winpro has a diagram that he put up on here that will show you exacty what it does.

Wow, that's you? Gaz brushes seemed like years ago. Sadly I never got the chance to try one, many people were raving about the back in the day. Gosh I feel like an old window cleaner now.  :D

Can you use these resi necks with the aqua daptor?

I can think of loads of windows that I could use the swivel on.I've never used one yet though.

Daz, I use one with an AD, just make sure you buy the correct one that screws on rather than the one for quick release poles.
