Does anyone know if we are required by law to carry warning stickers on our vans for our chemicals?
I see plenty of irritant labels on bottles and we carry flamable solvents but I have no idea if our vans should warn people of this.

Depends on the quantity, unless of course it's sulphuric acid or nuclear waste!

It might be worth checking with the local fire station.
I know people like air conditioning companies are supposed to have labelling for things like brazing or oxy acetylene gear.
I wonder how we stand with things like spirit (or maybe the quantities are too small?)

Hi linds,
chemical COSHH sheets section 14, always section 14 this will tell you whether any specific labelling is required and other transport considerations. One attatched.

I believe we are supposed to always carry coshh sheets for all chemicals we carry. Must admit I never have.

Mine are all in the back of the training folder I got from Prochem ;D

I always have several copy's in a folder just in case you never know when you will need them

If you know what to look for.

The amount carried on a carpet cleaners van would come under the small load exceptions criteria. I think this includes any dangerous goods under 1 kilo or 1 litre. Probably the most potent thing you would carry is rust remover. and some solvents. Non of these as far as I aware come in containers over 1 litre.

Not as daft as it might sound.
