Hi,
did a shag pile last year, it was cream in colour and wool. Spent a good half hour vacuuming with my sebo and picking small childrens toys out of it, it was that deep !
Sprayed lightly with PS Gold and agitated well. Extracted with FF Rinse with loads of dry passes. I placed my blower in the room for about an hour while cleaning other rooms, moving it everyso often. Then groomed afterwards.
The carpet was not in a bad condition and came up very well. Having the blower going for quite a while helped alot with the drying process, though difficult i suppose if its the only room you've got to do.
good luck.
Cheers.
Ben.

on a shag pile you need agitation for prespray to get into contact with dirt.

Yep, forget the Sebo on this as it'll hardly touch it. Henry on full pelt all the way.
These are hard work. Tricky getting enough pre-spray down whilst not over-wetting.
Mechanical agitation will help and maybe also a glide.
